Transportes Pesados
Unifying Teams and Improving Forecasts with 60% Faster Order Processing
How Streamline improved planning accuracy and cross-team collaboration for a leading automotive distributor

About the client
Transportes Pesados has over 45 years of experience supplying spare parts and equipment for heavy vehicles - including trucks, buses, and trailers ranging from 4 to 8 tons - in El Salvador and Honduras.
The company offers a wide portfolio of parts from leading global brands as well as products of Asian origin. Since 2015, Transportes Pesados has been part of the Ferreycorp corporation. Today, the company operates more than 10 branches in El Salvador and 3 in Honduras.
At the time of adopting Streamline, it managed 10 branches in
El Salvador and just 1 in Honduras. Planning processes were handled through SAP ERP and Excel spreadsheets, which limited visibility and efficiency in demand and purchasing management.
Challenge
Before implementing Streamline, Transportes Pesados managed planning with SAP ERP and Excel spreadsheets. This created significant issues, particularly around:
High variability in lead times from international suppliers
Frequent shortages of high-turnover products, leading to lost sales and weaker market positioning
A lack of seasonal demand consideration in forecasting models
Manual, inefficient planning processes based on outdated statistical methods
These challenges made it difficult to maintain accurate forecasts, efficient inventory planning, and reliable supply for their customers.
Project
To address these challenges, Transportes Pesados evaluated several planning platforms. They ultimately chose Streamline due to:
Seamless integration with SAP ERP without dependence on specific versions
Graphical data visualization and reporting that simplified decision-making
Variety of forecasting methods for more accurate, seasonality-aware demand planning
Exceptional implementation support from Proaktio, Streamline’s partner
Implementation was carried out gradually, including proofs of concept, data validations, six weeks of training, and a transition period where Streamline was run in parallel with the old system. The process emphasized close support, fast responses to queries, and smooth optimization of previously manual workflows.
Outcomes
Since adopting Streamline, Transportes Pesados has achieved measurable improvements across planning and operations:
12% reduction in average inventory, improving turnover in the first year
25% faster supplier order analysis
60% reduction in time to generate branch orders from headquarters
50% decrease in total purchase planning time
The above metrics reflect direct improvements in inventory turnover, agility in planning, and reduction of critical times. Beyond numbers, the company reports streamlined collaboration between purchasing, sales, and logistics, as well as the ability to manage its entire Distribution Requirements Planning (DRP) process directly in Streamline.
We would definitely recommend Streamline. It is a very agile tool, which is easily adapted to the needs of our business and has allowed us to achieve tangible results in inventory management. In addition, the support from the Streamline/Proaktio team has been excellent throughout the process.
